6 Things Every Pregnant Woman Should Do

6 Things Every Pregnant Woman Should Do

Pregnancy may seem like a long ten months, but in the end, it goes by fast. This is your time to take care of you! Here are 6 things every pregnant woman should do to before their little bundle of joy arrives.

Make New Mom Friends

Sign-up for a yoga class for pregnant women, make new friends with the moms at the coffee shop down the street or jump online to find social networks. It’s always good to have a network of women going through the same thing as you and receive some extra support on those days you just need to vent.

Having a strong group of moms can be one of the best tools you could have in your back pocket for those precious few months (and beyond) after your little one arrives. Sharing your experiences and asking questions is a great way to feel more connected.

Buy a Maternity Outfit that Makes You Feel Fabulous

We totally know that pregnancy clothes are 1. Not too fun and 2. Mostly hand-me-downs because who wants to buy all these new outfits when you’re wearing them for only a few months right? But grabbing that one staple that you can pull over and say I’m going to kick a** today is completely worth it. Oh and splurge on those comfy shoes too because THOSE you’ll be wearing all the time.

Splurge on a Massage

Who doesn’t love a massage? And now you even have an excuse. Massages during pregnancy have often received ambivalent responses from the health community regarding their safety and purpose. Modern investigation and research has shown that prenatal massage therapy can be an instrumental ingredient in women’s prenatal care and should be given careful consideration. So book one today.

Make a List of Easy Go-To Recipes

Making food may be on the end of your to-do list in the upcoming months. Write up a quick list of recipes and throw some frozen fruit in the freezer for some easy run-out-the-door drinks. To find some inspiration, check out our Instagram page for a weekly recipe @protivamom.

Don’t Make Excuses Not to Exercise

We could create a laundry-list of the importance to exercise during pregnancy but the number one is that your baby will start reaping the benefits immediately.

Exercise during pregnancy is one of the best things you can do for your body and your mind. Staying toned and fit not only helps keep you stronger throughout your pregnancy, but can help lend a helping hand during labor and delivery, too!

You don’t need to exercise every single day, but it’s a good idea to aim for some sort of activity you enjoy most days of the week. As your pregnancy progresses and comfort levels change, modify the activity and intensity so you’re always feeling good.

Head to the Beach in a Bikini

You’re carrying a human being and we think that is amazing enough to grab a sunhat and head down to the nearest beach. If you’re lucky enough to live or vacation in a warmer part of the world during your pregnancy, nothing could be more relaxing that listening to the sounds of waves crashing on a beach while your toes are melting into the sand.
